A shout out to Daniel, after the last post he shared one of his more favored qualification course of fire: the Idaho POST (police officer) Course. Which is the local course of fire used here in Idaho.
This one is a little different than the Border Patrol qual course I shared yesterday. Some of the things I like are the movement stages: firing while walking forward and backwards as well as turning and shooting. There are also some failure drills incorporated at the 3 and 5 yard lines, making you fire a couple rounds quickly to center mass, than slowing down to make a precise hit. Another advantage is the round count, 40 rounds is almost half as much as the Border Patrol qual, which is a factor with the increase cost of ammunition.
All in all it’s worth considering as well for incorporating into your training plan I’ve shot it a few times and thinks worth shooting.
