A frequent question I get is, where does a person get a bunch of medicine to stock up on in case the world falls apart?
The short answer is there are some companies out there that specialize in getting a stockpile of medicine. Jase Medical is one I have heard the most about, I’ve also heard they have been harder to deal with recently. I’m not sure though as I’ve never had any dealings with them before.
The second place is your own doctor may be willing to prescribe you the things you want, there was a time they would make exceptions, especially if you are going on a long trip or expedition, perhaps they would do it for your particular concern.
The answer that I have settled on for myself is different though, I am as much as possible, going back to the old ways. In the recent past, and for most of our history, people used natural medicine. They also ate real food and were generally healthier people.
First, your diet should promote health and not sickness. Since following the same food pyramid I learned in 90s people have only gotten fatter and sicker. The amount of grain they recommend is disproportionately large. Coupled with the genetic modifications made to grain so they could add chemicals without the plant dying. There are many new medical issues my grandparents’ generation did not have, and fake food has been shown to be one of the contributing issues.
Additionally, you need meat, animal fat, eggs, and real salt in your diet. There has been a campaign to remove them, but they have been shown to be some of the keys to healthy living. This was part of the war on fat and salt, both of which were replaced with sugar. We need fat and salt to live. Sugar is basically poison in the quantities Americans consume. The cynics out there go as far as saying, if they say it’s bad for me then maybe I need it and if they say it’s good for me then I avoid it. I see where they come from.
Vegetables are good for you as well, the same as fruit. If you are eating grain, try to eat the cleanest version you can reasonably do. Real ingredients without chemical preservatives are your best bet. Do your own research to find the system for you and yours.
Secondly the herbal side of the house has great medicinal value, its biggest downside, in my opinion, is it takes harvesting in season and preparation. This takes work and some planning, but if you are concerned about long term access to healing the medicine after the ships with Chinese pills stop sailing, I don’t know a more practical option.
This could seem like a lot of work, and I agree, the learning curve alone is large. Consider though in the past an apothecary with natural medicine was a business in town before the pharmacy. Someone locally made it their job to know the medical plants, harvest them in season, and properly prepare them. I would suggest someone in your community or family take this on as their role, if you don’t want to do everything yourself.
Look at homeopathic medicines to stock up on, as those are mostly available over the counter at the natural foods’ stores. My family and I have been using them for several years now and so far, they have offered comparable performance to conventional medicines. One advantage to them is their ability to be stored in a smaller space than I previously stocked in my aid bag.
Remember that any of the medical treatments need to be done by someone who knows what they are doing. With knowledge of the body, medical issues, and how the treatments work.
Many say that we have advanced past the olds ways. Perhaps, but the new ways are getting close to 100 years old, having been in full circulation far less than that. If you look at the 50 and younger crowd who have lived their whole lives in the system, we aren’t seeing examples of health. It should also be pointed out that the new medicine was started as a way for Rockefeller to make money in medicine. He had all medical schools that didn’t buy into the new wonder drugs closed in about a decade. Natural isn’t profitable, and when the last generation of doctors who were taught and used natural approaches died off the only voice was modern pharmaceuticals.
I’m not saying to disregard the entire modern medical system. Trauma and surgery advances are quite amazing, for example. I just would point out that day-to-day health is lacking, and sick people make better clients.
Garlic, elderberry syrup, and colloidal silver will be easier to make at home than cold pills and antibiotics. Which was the question at the beginning right? How do I make sure I have medicine on hand? Make it yourself.
Now for the hard one, what if you are on a daily regimen of prescription medication? I don’t know your case, and I don’t know what the complications would be if you stopped taking them. I AM NOT ADVISING YOU TO CHANGE ANYTHING YOUR DOCTOR ORDERED. If you are on maintenance medication and are worried about access to them, because of another covid like supply issue or whatever supply collapse. Then I would do my very best to find out how to change my health so as not have to take daily pills. You may have to consult health, nutrition, and other experts in your area for your case. Depending on the issues this could be difficult. I hope and pray we never have a collapse or the supply breakdown.
In summary, you can order a supply you for your purposes, switch to a homeopathic solution that is easier to stock up on or find a natural solution you previously would have used a pharmaceutical for. Lastly, becoming healthy as prevention is easier than cure.
