The news lately has many headlines regarding another world war. There is conflict in Ukraine still, Israel and Hamas have no sign of slowing, US military bases across the Middle East are attacked almost daily, commercial shipping in the Red Sea is losing proposition if you’re not a Chinese or Russian flagged vessel, South America is erupting in civil war and conflict, China is going after multiple countries in the pacific region violating someone’s sea or air space almost daily.
Who’s fault is this? Greedy evil people in charge of most places and the citizens that allowed it to happen. There is an Old Testament principle that the faithfulness of a nation’s leader will be returned to the nation itself. King David is a perfect example of this principal. When he was faithfully following God things were going well for Israel. When he sinned, not only David but the whole nation paid the price. When David repented and turned back to God, things improved for the nation, as well as for David. Go back and read the Second Book of Samuel and afterwards consider carefully who you let to be your leader.
Two lessons that I take away from this are: your faithfulness or lack thereof, the fruit of which, will not only be delivered onto you but those you have a biblical charge over. Leaders, husbands, parents, etc. The second lesson is that you can always go back to God. Never forget this one!
So what can I control? First I can do my very best to be a good and faithful servant of Christ. The blessings that come with this will be with me and my family, as they are my responsibility. One part of being a servant is Proverbs 22:3 The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it. What does that mean? Well if you can see that a potential danger on the horizon and you do nothing then you will have to pay the price of ignoring it. There are consequences. Well that sounds like fun, but I have been warned and I see that dangerous times appear to be in the immediate future.
Okay I have exactly zero desire to go fight in another war. While there was much I did enjoy about my time oversees, the only reason I can currently foresee me engaging in combat again is for defense of myself, my family, or my community. Are those groups safe? Less now than they were a few years ago. Crime is unpunished and spilling over from more metropolitan areas. We have been fully invaded through the lack of enforcement of immigration laws.

It is only reasonable to assume that a percentage of those are plants from their respective governments to conduct 4th generation warfare here (*see below for more on 4th Generation warfare). I would do so if I was planning operations against the US. This would be doubly true if they were preparing a ground invasion from conventional forces to create as much chaos as possible, until it became justifiable to deploy under the guise of “peacekeeping” forces.
What are we at the Outpost doing? Assessing the leadership of the community, county, and state to see if they will produce blessings or curses. Reassessing our ability to be self-sufficient; a nation losing fighting internal conflict is one where food and emergency services will be hard to get. We are going to train. Train like we are citizens living in a place that has a 4th Generation War being fought. Americans have gone to fight in other places. In recent memory, we have not prepared to be the nation under attack at home. Lastly, we are going to remember that worrying is not going to be an all-consuming part of our lives. We are still going to live our lives. Never forget that the news wants to keep you in a doom cycle. I think it’s part of the devil’s plan to control people, to keep us in a state of panic….that’s not a place where you are trusting God.
Is it silly or prudent? Hopefully it is just an unnecessary mental exercise.

*4th Generation warfare in overly simple terms: a war with one side that is a non state actor, or one that isn’t being waged by a traditional standing army. An insurgency war, where targets often include civilians. Another definition is: the blending of politics and war. Examples from the past would be: Iraq, Afghanistan, Ireland, etc. The suspicious loss of agricultural and energy production facilities in recent years, if those were done purposely, would be attacks in a 4th Generation war.
